June 19th - 20th AAKF National Summer Seminar in Cheterfield, Missouri. Instructors from the AAKF Technical Board will present training sessions on various topics, and a judges refresher course will be held. The event is part of the 52nd National AAKF Tournament.
June 21st - 22nd The 52nd AAKF National Championship will take place in Cheterfield, Missouri. Important dates: May 24th - athlete registraions submitted, May 31st - regional forms due. July 12th - 18th The 2013 ITKF International Camp will take place in San Diego in July. Expected guest instructors are Sensei Shirai and Sensei Fusaro. More details will be available on the ITKF web site.
August 13th - 18th International Traditional Karate Seminar Gashuku 2013 and ITKF Summer Camp will take place at "Dojo - Stara Wies" in Poland. More information will be available at the Polish Karate Federation web site.
October/November (TBD) The Madison Japanese Karate Club tournament will take place in late October or early November in Madison, WI. More details will be available soon.
November 12th - 17th The XVII Panamerican Traditional Karate Championship will be held in the city of Formosa, Argentina. The tournament and related events will take place at the “Cincuentenario Stadium”. At the same time, the V Interclubs Championship, organized by the Association of Traditional Karate Argentina (A.K.T.A.), the ITKF member organization in Argentina, will take place for promotional categories and for all ages. Past Events - 2012
April 27th - 29th The 2012 AAKF National Spring Seminar took place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, hosted by the Shotokan Karate Association Wisconsin club. The event was very successful, and reviews of the seminar by members of the region are now available.
June 15th - 16th The 51st AAKF National Championship took place in Los Angeles, California. Our region had improved representation, with Denise Nacu placing in the top four in women's individual kata, Jay Nacu and Gerardo Fernandez reaching the final 8 in men's individual kata (out of more than 30 participants), and the Illinois Kata and Kumite teams taking third place in their divisions.
